The various companies today gathered under the REDA brand were established in the post-war period, when the Company POSA, which had been set up during the war, resumed its production of seals made of cotton and hemp, as well as the sales of industrial rubber items.
The POSA Company, established at first in Milan, was then relocated to Crescenzago with a first rubber processing plant, and then to Cologno Monzese, a facility that has been repeatedly modernized. Throughout the years, it became increasingly specialized in designing and supplying precious rubber products, and soon started exporting to other European countries, especially the challenging yet interesting German market. The growing Clientele, looking for updated products manufactured according to the desired specifications, as well as the positive response from foreign markets, prompted the owners to increase the production capacity. Since this was not possible in Cologno due to the lack of sufficient space, a new location had to be found, able to also ensure reliable and loyal workers. It was finally spotted on the Brescia-side shores of Lake Iseo, where ISEO GOMMA S.p.A. was set up at an industrial compound covering an area of 20,000 sqm, now perfectly completed. At this facility, shaped and geometrical drawn pieces have been manufactured in an in-line system for several years with a high-productivity and cost-effectiveness ratio in comparison with steam processing.
Proper formulas, innovative technologies and a focus on the specific market of modern aluminium, plastic and wooden doors and windows contributed to Societą ISEO GOMMA's soon becoming a market leader increasingly present throughout Europe.
The experience of this facility was later to be exported to Japan, the United States and Spain through a transfer of licences.
In the early eighties, the processing of silicone rubber, set up at the beginning of the sixties at Societą POSA in Cologno Monzese, was growing at such a pace to require the construction of a separate manufacturing unit at Bottanuco (Bergamo). This facility entirely dedicated to this group of elastomers was later completed by an especially controlled department for the manufacturing of products for the pharmaceutical and paramedical industries.
Over the years this unit became Italy's largest producer of extruded silicone rubber items, serving Customers in the most different sectors and acquiring expertise in the industry of hot household appliances.
In 1986, POSA bought a new plant in Brugherio, where the moulding department was newly set up and enriched by modern injection-moulding equipment, recently completed with a section for the finishing and supply of ready-for-assembly items made to Customers' instructions.
In the year 1992 production was started at Stabilimento ADRIAMIX s.r.l. in Trieste, a plant built to meet the needs of the extruded organic rubber market, whose growth has largely exceeded the best forecasts and long saturated ISEO GOMMA's production capacity.
The business in Trieste grew so rapidly to call for new facility areas, which became fortunately available right next doors to the initial plant.
In 2001, the Group took over the TAMBURINI GIEFFE srl company, a competitor operating in the sector of extruded silicone rubber. At its Misinto plant, this Company had developed an interesting system for continuous sheet extrusion.
In the following years, the facility at POSA - Bottanuco, where the silicone rubber processing was based, was enlarged and a new Clean-room was set up for the processing of medical items.
Some of the products relating to this market have been CE-branded in the year 2005.
Thanks to the large area available, all the manufacturing processes regarding the silicone sector were then gathered at the production unit of Posa Bottanuco, while the Misinto facility was divested in the course of 2005.
In late 2004 and early 2005, the Cologno Monzese facility located in the very centre of the town and therefore marked by an uncertain future as a manufacturing plant, was divested as well: its operations were decentralized and relocated to the plants in Bottanuco and Brugherio.
